The Superior Scientific Research Council has awarded Romero Muebles de Laboratorio the design, installation and setup of the new premises of the Instituto de la Grasa in Seville.
The Instituto de la Grasa (Institute of Fats) has the aim of studying olive oil, its properties and implications in our diet; as well as analysing the different species to identify which olive tree adapts better to each climate zone. The laboratory facility is an essential tool for the fulfilment of its task.
It has been a large-scale project with great teamwork between Romero, the management and future users of the laboratory, with the aim of providing a solution completely personalised to its research requirements and challenges. The tasks of each of the users were considered together with their specific requirements and how these will relate to other laboratory staff.
Three statistics provide an idea of the magnitude of the project: 1,500 linear meters of benching, more than 100 fume cupboards and 700 storage cabinets.
The Romerotech range was chosen for the furniture, a system which includes services in integrated and interchangeable panels to provide great adaptability, efficiency, ergonomics and privacy. The installation included Romero VGTech fume cupboards configured to project requirements.
The laboratory became operational in October 2014.
